Running Man’s Song Song Couple!
I love their closeness and they look more natural to me than the Monday couple (Gary and Ji Hyo). <3
Joong Ki and Ji Hyo’s close relationship look more real to me despite their age differences. If I’m not mistaken Ji Hyo is 4 years older than him which makes her Joong Ki’s noona. Song Ji Hyo is the sole female member of the Korean Variety show Running Man so it is expected that she is most likely the other members’ center of attention. As I have seen from the previous episodes, Monday Couple ~ Gary & Ji Hyo loveline tandem is very much love by the viewers thus it became more popular among netizens.
However, after Episode 15 wherein Joong Ki unexpectedly kissed Ji Hyo during a mission, this gained a lot of attention among the viewers just like me. After that incident, I became very interested about what’s gonna happen next so I end up waiting and expecting more of Joong Ki and Ji Hyo’s RM interactions in the upcoming episodes.
Both Gary and Joong Ki confessed their interest for Ji Hyo. Honestly, I think they really both like Ji Hyo but from the way I see it Running Man staff is promoting the Monday Couple more than the Song Song Couple to prevent Ji Hyo from getting more antis from Joong Ki’s fans. There were some rumors that Joong Ki’s fans especially the noonas didn’t like the idea of them being too close or becoming a couple. Also, I’ve noticed that PD sometimes edited out their parts that’s why they don’t seem to have that much interactions than they used to. Some also said that their closeless is more like a sibling relationship. But I’d rather think not based on my observation.
Ji Hyo seems more at ease and comfortable with Joong Ki around. And if you will observe them, they prefer to stay, stand or sit next to each other. Still, I think Gary really likes her from the way he looks at her but I don’t think she feels the same way. They both look so awkward when they were left alone and they don’t even have each other’s numbers eventhough they already filmed several episodes . It’s not that I don’t like Monday couple because I do like them and their loveline tandem was really fun to watch. But somehow, It felt like it is more scripted now unlike before.
I like the RM’s latest episode when Joong Ki got mad when he learned that Ji Hyo was already with Gary and got rejected to be on her team. I can’t help myself from smiling when Ji Hyo kept on saying sorry about what happend and Joong Ki was like playing hard to get. haha

Thanks for the article. I like them stay together too there is something that could not find in Monday couple. Indeed, who like Monday couple do not necessary to hate songsong couple since they have different way of cute.
It is natural people may favor Monday couple because it came first and Garry is not celebrety. I also notice how many edited done to satisfy those viewers group.
I would sustained judgement how deep their feeling although some believe Monday couple is real ( I did not watch earlier episode – it may look less realistic now)- well there are other SBS loveline look more real ( again – everyone will say this is the most real -that’s ok for their perception but in the history : which promoted loveline going to be real?) – why so serious?
In conclusin, I like how you analyze and be neutral. Hopefully mature vieweers will respect each other opininon.
wow thanks! I totally agree with you. I also do enjoy watching monday couple because somehow they also have that on-screen chemistry together. It’s just that there’s something between the Song Song Couple that looks more real and sincere. you can tell by just observing how comfortable they are with each other. Song Joong Ki really seems like he really cares about Ji Hyo and so did Ji Hyo to him.
Maybe the RM staff decided to promote Monday couple more to prevent Ji Hyo from getting antis because Joong Ki is pretty much popular these days especially among female viewers. And the fact that Ji Hyo is few years older than him which makes it more somewhat complicated among the fans. Fortunately, Just like Monday Couple, Song Song Couple is also gaining a lot of fans. <3
I totally agree . I mean , Gary don’t look as close to Ji Hyo as compared to Joong Ki . Also , it’s always true that Joong Ki and Ji Hyo stand side by side (for most episodes) . I also like the episode where they have to go to the sauna to find the Running Man guest . At the opening speech , it was quite cold and Joong Ki’s clothes were very thin . So , Ji Hyo shared her scarf with him . It was totally sweet ! <3 It's not like I don't like the Monday couple though, they just don't look natural . I support both couples , but my preference always goes to the Song Song siblings !! ~
Oh! I forget to add : that’s no matter screen show “Song song sibling” or what ever. As long as they are being natural with each other. I still prefer watching them than promoted couple.
Thoughtful article ! I could figure out some of examples you said Joong ki and Ji hyo truely get along well. I wonder why someone still judge other base on age/gender – it should not be minded nowaday. As you said I would be rather appreciate the way they support each other.
Me too!!! Song song couple is my current addiction!!! They’re so natural… I really really love them… but I also like monday couple, they’re funny… By the way, your song song couple videos are also my favorite! Hope you can create more =)

when joong ki wins he really adds ji hyo in his speech “and called her to my earnest noona”.
they are even sitting beside each other while gary is in the other far side.
he really cares for her.
i really love songsong couple..ive been a fan of them since episode 2..they are really close and comfortable with each other…i love how joongki cares for his nuna..ive noticed that joongki always make the first move..gosh..i hope they’re real and will end up together in the future..i like gary but not monday couple..monday couple seems scripted and forced just to avoid antifans.well,its a good idea too..for me,there’s really sumthing between ji hyo and joongki..u could really differentiate reality from just a scripted loveline..i just dont like the fact that many are against the songsong couple just because of their age difference, and mostly are personal reasons from haters..songsong couple is sso real and natural..i really love them and will support them always..

) totally agree with ‘jannesa’ too! been observing them ever since, Jihyo first appeared on RM keke Joongki really does show so much more attention on her, than any other female guest thats appeared xD their skinship is sooo natural and u can jst feel the chemistry btn them
